My paintings are unique impressionist or abstract batik art. I create exciting color combinations using an unusual watercolor technique of dyes on heavy fabric. The process uses various methods to apply the colors, from washes to intricate details, sometimes painted by the drop. I use hand-crafted, custom-made tools from Indonesia to create distinctive and varied textures using hot wax.
At the end of these complex procedures, I remove the wax. I stretch the painting with gallery wrap, so that no fraiming is necessary. A final polycrylic coat adds a lustrous seal.
This art was inspired by my travels to exotic places throughout the world. I left for art school in Europe as a teenager. My adventures continued throughout Europe, Asia, North Africa, and South America, where I journeyed from the jungles of the Amazon to the peaks of the Andes.
Each of my paintings is truly a one-of-a kind, distinctive creation.
